Nav-Tech ring-type test switches let utilities and contractors isolate, test, and bypass metering circuits without interrupting service. Each switch is built pole-by-pole to your arrangement — potential, line- and load-side current, and neutral positions, with a handle color per pole — on a 7- or 10-pole fiberglass-reinforced base. Consult your serving utility for approval requirements before ordering.

Features

Handle colors: standard black for current, red for potential; polypropylene, custom colors available
Current-carrying components of highly conductive copper and copper alloys
Plated or bare configurations; spring-grade materials where appropriate
90° pivots on 45° stops standard (180° pivots available)
Fiberglass-reinforced thermoset polyester base, flame-retardant
Available in 7-pole and 10-pole base sizes
Permanently mounted polycarbonate polarity barriers between terminals
Impact-resistant clear covers, factory- or field-installed (TSB-CVR)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I specify a custom pole arrangement?
Use the configurator above: pick your base size and number of poles, then set the switch type and handle color for each position. “Add to Quote” sends us the full arrangement — the same information as a filled-in paper worksheet.
What switch types and handle colors are available?
Switch types include potential (V), line-side current with short-circuit assembly (C+), load-side current with test jack (C), neutral bar (N), neutral potential (Vn), unused (X), and insulating barrier (|). Handles come in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, gray, black, and striped variants; custom colors are available.
Can I add covers?
Yes — clear impact-resistant covers can be factory-installed, or ordered separately for field installation (TSB-CVR). They’re compatible with low-mount test bridges.
Is utility approval required?
Consult your serving utility for their requirements before ordering or installing — specifications and approvals vary by utility and may require local inspector approval. All installations must be performed by a licensed electrician per applicable codes.
