Frequently Asked Questions

What does Nav-Tech manufacture?
Nav-Tech builds custom electrical enclosures and power distribution equipment for utility, commercial, and industrial service entrance work — CT cabinets, trans-sockets, meter sockets, disconnect switches, switchboards and distribution panels, tap boxes, enclosures and pull boxes, fire alarm products, ground bars, gang boxes, wireways and troughs, test switch bypass assemblies, transfer switches, and elevator products. Most of it is built to a specific utility’s published specification rather than to a generic catalog size.
Are Nav-Tech products UL Listed?
Nav-Tech is a UL-listed manufacturer and its product lines are built to UL requirements as well as to the serving utility’s specification. Listing and rating details for a given product appear on that product’s individual spec sheet.
Which utilities are Nav-Tech products approved for?
Nav-Tech has published, utility-approved drawings for Con Edison, PSEG Long Island, PSEG New Jersey, Central Hudson, Orange & Rockland, National Grid, NYSEG, Rochester Gas & Electric, United Illuminating, Eversource, First Energy, JCP&L, PECO, PPL, Pepco, Delmarva, Atlantic City Electric, Duke Energy, Duquesne Light, Entergy, Florida Power & Light, DTE Energy, Austin Energy, and others. Note that PSEG Long Island and PSEG New Jersey are separate utilities with separate approved drawings. If your utility isn’t shown, contact us — we likely already build for it.
Can Nav-Tech build a custom size or configuration?
Yes. Custom sizes, non-standard bus arrangements, special terminal layouts, and one-off configurations are a routine part of the business. Send dimensions or a sketch with your quote request and we’ll price it as a custom order. A $100.00 minimum order applies.
Where do I find spec sheets and catalogs?
Every published drawing is a free PDF download on the Specifications page, filterable by product category or by utility. Multi-page product catalogs are on the Catalogs page.
How do I request a quote?
Add items to a quote from any product page, or call (718) 257-2111 and ask for sales. You can also send requirements through the contact form. Include the serving utility, amperage, phase, and NEMA rating if you know them — that is usually enough to identify the right drawing.
